I'm leaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again...

I finally have my ticket to Seoul! I am leaving Monday at 2pm. Even though I don't need to be there before 11, I am sure that my father will have me there at 10am. If not earlier. There is a weird inherited trait that keeps our family frighteningly on time and the more nerves involved the earlier we are. Case in point: I am always half an hour early for class the first week of school. Always. Though I haven't figured out why I am never on time for meeting people for drinks. Especially dates. It's not like I try to be late but I always end up getting held up at work, particularly involved in my research or something-- and then look at the time and realize I should have left the house 5 minutes ago, not just started getting ready. OR I get on time to the metro station or wherever and have just missed the train and have to wait 15 minutes for the next one. No one ever seems to mind terribly but I always feel guilty, especially since I'm usually never late. I guess social commitments just don't rank as high on my internal punctuality mechanism or something.

Anyways, as I was saying about being early to the airport-- JFK is an extremely tedious airport. The worst part about flying in September is that I've already read all of the good fashion magazines. Maybe they have the French or British Vogue on sale at the airport...
I'm always a little to nervous and high strung to really get into a book while I'm waiting in the airport. Though this doesn't stop me from bringing 3 or 4 with me. I could watch a movie on my ipod but I will be conserving battery so I can have the full 24 hours of battery. Why haven't they designed an ipod with 24 hour video capacity?? Anyone have tips on things to do while waiting for hours at JFK?

i was supposed to leave saturday. don't know what happened. but it works out for the best because there is supposed to be a huge storm on saturday which means my plane probably would have gotten grounded anyways.
