A Quiet Weekend

People have been celebrating Thanksgiving all weekend. I had my Thanksgiving dinner on Friday at Psycho. People don't seem to realize that you can't move holidays around to fit your schedule, that it's just a nice meal on an ordinary day. I suppose it doesn't really matter, that calenders are sort of arbitrary anyways but it feels a bit hallow to celebrate like this. On the plus side, I did get yummy food though there wasn't any turkey.

I was supposed to go out Saturday night but I was just tired and went home after meeting folk for dinner. I read and talked to some people from home. Sunday was much of the same. I did laundry, cleaned a bit, took myself out to lunch and read.

When I don't make an effort, I lead an exceptionally boring life. Or I could look at it another way: Sunday afternoon I went to an exotic restaurant, ordered the cuisine in the local tongue and experienced culinary bliss as a break from my chores. Makes it sound much more exciting.

Sometimes, after a week of high energy teaching, all I want to do is veg out. Maybe I'll go on an adventure next weekend.
